Great typography is deceptively simple and this portfolio is amazing. Use of the scroll wheel would be nice, as the auto scroll up/down is a tad slow for me.

Scroll wheel worked for me. Your cursor needs to be within the bounds of the articles listings though.
I love how sparse it is. Good job.

IIRC, the site’s look hasn’t changed since early 2008…
…and it still looks fresh now. :)
