Since this is posted in Redesign, let’s stick to that subject. Though I can only judge from the screenshot of the previous design, I’d say big improvement!
Layout is very nice. Copy… a little tough on the eyes.

Points for not following the de facto web 2.0 cliche standard. Copy is a bit small, but I would call it a trade off - smaller copy equals more immediately visible content on screen.
Besides, it’s not like Kineda has lengthy articles, so I wouldn’t call the smallish text a critical problem.
That has its own problems, since it will block the entire request until that is done. An alternative would be using something like BackgroundRB or AP4R, and both requires you to run an additional server in the background.
