Not. We just saw a site with this same format day’s ago, as well as it had the same typography.. neither of which I liked. And to be honest this Happy Cog inspiration is really just getting on my nerves at this point (even though she obviously does work with/for them)
@nthdesign.se: There are plenty of good qualities about this site. Look a tiny bit longer.
@JeremyB: I disagree. Yes, it’s a nice layout, but there are a few spacing problems - particularly on the Work page as Ian has pointed out. Additionally, the logo type could also be worked a little more and there are some leading issues.
Best of? Not in my opinion. But I like the layout and enjoy the content. Give it a little more lovin’ and it certainly could be.

What would you change on the Work page, Jamie?
• Vertical alignment of the elements in the “subscribe” / search bar area
• Build in more of a buffer between the bottom of “design” and the top of the subscribe bar when the list of items is short.
That’s about all I got. And that’s really nitpicky. Writing page is gross, yeah.

It’s a struggle to comment on these clean sites sometimes. She’s aimed for clean and it hits the spot.
The ‘Work’ section needs a rework though, it all gets a bit cramped.
The ‘Writing’ section goes to a page that looks broken and ‘About’ and ‘Contact’ link to sub domains that cause for reloading of the entire site.
Seems like it’s still in development to me.

Nothing about this website seems interesting to me. It’s in no way an example of the “best” websites.

Best of blog layouts, definitely. The attention to detail in element spacing, typography, icons, etc. is outstanding.
