anyway, visually creating a site that has a numerous amount of horizontally stretching lines is hard element to get right. this design i think looks better in skinny browser window so the horizontal lines don’t cause the eye to move outwards too much.
Yea… It’s okay. Too heavy for my taste though, feels like it’s all nice looking but too weighed down to really go any further. Also, his “flamboyant” attitude is quite annoying, personally, after reading but 2 sentences, so I never wasted my time read anything else.
I quite like the overall design. Primarily because its different than most things out there. Could do without the horizontal lines but I don’t think they kill the whole picture.
@the designer : take a look at the post dates in different browsers. Everyone is different. IE looks the most normal(from what im guessing is normal), Safari can’t read the month, and FF3 date is moved way down.
Personally I dont know why a lot of you are nitpicking here, a lot of the people (not all) making negative remarks have pretty poor websites or have not sharing the url (and before you say my website is not live as I am currently redoing it).
As the saying goes “People Who Live In Glass Houses Should Not Throw Stones” and that seems true in this case.
Adii puts a lot of time and effort in to the design community and it seems a bit wrong to criticise him because you think he is cocky and arrogant. This is part of his brand, kind of aimed tongue in cheek.
Personally I think this site is very well done and feels original. Color choices and icons are right on.
It’s becoming quite clear to me that the majority of the posters on this site have fallen for the misguided perception that they actually know what they are talking about. Just because the site doesn’t align with your personal preferences doesn’t mean it’s a poor design. At least have the decency to post your own work when being so critical of others so we can at least see the bar that we should all be shooting for.

I agree with Devin Ross, it’s hard to grasp….
Nice to see so many South Africans getting featured on BWG.
Personally, I like this design QUITE a bit. I like the color combos, the textures and mainly, the hover effects.
I would maybe change the comment layout but I’m pulling at straws.
Strange site…
Too much of heavy horizontal lines and colors.

yeah, not liking this one at all.
Yup, the horizontal bars totally break the flow and really distract the eye when you’re trying to read the posts.
Your awesomeness breaks in the comment list in FF2 (Firefox 2). Comments are all over. Dont like the horizontal lines either.
I agree with the strong horizontal lines. It’s a different way of navigating a website, which I guess is ok, brave if not ok.
I’m really not a fan of over polished websites though.

Also the search bar in IE is a little broken.
But overall looks great!
Feck all you haters! just cos you can’t design this well..
I’m not sure, interesting idea.. bit heavy and slightly unusable but definitely a cool idea and a nice execution
this is mobile-friendly site. View it on your iPhone or BB and see. Looks good to me!
@ 15. Dmitry Sokolov
No. His floating persistent menu doesnt float on the iPhone, rendering navigation completely useless.
The large horizontal bars would be better if they were only 2px tall instead of 10px.
Dude looks like a douche bag though
Great site, love the overall look and i really like the whole tumblelog theme.
Not sure whats with some of these comments attacking the author though, makes some of you seem kinda petty. My 2 cents.
LOL.. look at all you haters… tsk tsk
its his personal site guys.. he might as well have flashy backgrounds and glitter text, doesnt matter. In the end, Adii is still the rockstar
