I don’t get particularly excited by this design. The site isn’t encouraging enough, and i find that I don’t want to browse their portfolio or click through to the rest of the site.
The white text on yellow is also difficult to read.
I think the site is fantastic and the little details within the illustrations are very intriguing and fun. The layout is very simple and easy to navigate, these guys have a fantastic portfolio of work too! Top job. Nice to see great design coming from the north of england
Edmund may have one point though on reflection… For me black and yellow are two very complimentary colours and I think it’s really eye catching, but because the yellow is so intense, the white certainly doesn’t work.
@Kev… faultless? Every site has a fault, or drawback, or something it can be improved on. As for best agency site so far this year… It’s a week into the New year, so that’s nothing distinguishable (yet, at least).
As for my pickles… I agree their grasp on branding is pretty strong, but for me there is just not enough design elements used. Too plain for my taste I guess. Specifically, one thing being the social icons at the bottom seem like a quick job, could have been a bit more creative on how to implement that with their branding strategy.
Illustrations are nice, love the contrast, agree the white is a bit hard but evokes the feeling they’re going for I think.. All in all a good site.

This is an accessibility and usability nightmare. Ever heard of visual language? The links are the exact same as the headers. not distinguishable at all. -1
it’s mo nightmare. very nice drawings. very nice site, the navigation is easy. might not be futurist like others where you have to wonder for hours which is the next step where you could possibly go to, but i like it.
in flash, with a bit of animation, those headers would be even funnier.

I think the use of yellow just shows what an excellent grasp this company has on branding.
