Also, why do people still insist on making unintuitive links? Red headline spans AND red links. OK, let’s make people hover over the words to see if their pointers change. Very logical and friendly.
Looks like a networking event. Nice design. I also didn’t care for the highlighted text the same color as the links. Perhaps the target visitor already knows what it is?
It’s a networking event for 150 of the top names in the field (i think) so I think you’d be right in saying it’s target audience will already know what it’s for.
Pretty nice looking websites. Probably the best site I’ve seen from Line.
Even though it took a bit of poking around to figure out what the site was all about, I actually rather enjoyed that. Not have a clue what the information graphics were about exactly had sort of the same effect that Ipsum Lorem has as filler text. You can just take in the well crafted design.
Taken from a comment above, and sorry for picking on Jack top 150 names in the field…???
What field is that, way out in left field from some of the comments here.
They aren’t building their fan base, as far as exclusive clubs they’ve got that going form them a wtf is this club.
Seriously nice site though too, great infographics, is that what it’s about? well maybe, cool pick for the gallery!
Don’t look now but it looks like they’ve gotten to Colly: http://colly.com
His site is a redesigned and total “Podge” now to…
Stop the madness, before it’s too late, you cat-sized what?!?#! lol.
Well if I’m right they don’t need to grow their fanbase do they? Since it’ exclusive. And it’s for the creative industry, it says that in the first line of their about page.
As for Colly’s site, I think its a gorgeou website. It’s all very clear what each link is if you give it a little read, odd concept, but a concept nontheless.

Can’t even tell what this site is about. Wine? Analytics statistics? Event?
Illustrations are cool and like the typography, other than that it all seems like mumbo jumbo to me.
@Rich
Ditto!
Nice design, nice colours, nice elements… but I have no clue what its about?
Nice design, a good choice of colours..but..what talk about? The message is not easy to understanding..sorry!
Nice but haven’t a clue what it’s all about. The about section doesn’t really explain to me at all!
Strange website. Agree with everyone else, design is nice but what’s it all about?
I don’t like the fact the links on the front page rely on the alt tag to explain what each link is.
The percentage of visits shown is cool but same as the rest of the site…what purpose does it serve?
Agreed with everyone else.

As a design exercise, I love it !
The quotes page is original, the illustrations look fantastic and the colour scheme is brilliant.
Is it design for design’s sake?
Well the design of the site MADE me read it all to try and figure out what its about.

Information overload and totally incoherent.
Breaks all the rules of design for me and while there may be some nice typographical touches, it doesn’t really cut the mustard for me.
If you’re a mathematician and enjoy large amounts of statistical data this site may be a dream, but for me as a designer, it’s a nightmare!
Is the glass half empty or half full?
strange website :-s
Somebody likes Nick Feltron.
great design, but not a lot of clear information!

Here’s an article on the site, indeed it’s an invitation only InfoGraphics event in the UK back in Dec. ’09

Maybe there’s an infographic in there with the menu on it. Great stuff then, intriguing look at inforgraphics geeks!
