The content text is a point or two too small to use the text-shadow effect without it being a tad hard to read, especially on a lighter background. Other than that, it looks good.
Also, most all of the images are much larger in file size then they should be, which creates unnecessary download/lag times before they are cached and displayed. For web use, 140kb (or more in some cases) for a 300x300px image is a little ridiculous.
It’s a lovely looking site and certainly a professional work. However, in my opinion it too over inspired from Carsonified. Also the letterpress style is done to death. It seems like every other website is either letterpress style , minimal or has a super hero.
@Inguna – I somewhat agree. Although I still think they can be used well, but if you’re going to go with a popular “look”, you better deliver something extraordinary, otherwise you just become “one of those [X] style sites”.
On that note… While I thought the site was pretty, it didn’t get me to read anything.
I personally think this site is hot stuff. Again, my only problem is the white text shadow on the blocks of text. Would have benefited from some rgba action and setting the alpha a little bit lighter.
The home page is really nice, but I really enjoyed the sub pages.
So out of interest, other than it was the same designer who designed this and Carsonified, how is it “too much like carsonified”?
In my opinion it is only similar in that they have used strong yet simple imagery.
@Iann From what I can gather, Amazee handles web development, not design, hence why they hired someone else to design their site. Hope that clears things up.

It looks very Carsonified inspired. I like it though!
Courier typeface – yes!
There’s not enough usage, in my option.
Well done.

Good looking site, I probably wont remember it, but I enjoyed using it.
That white text shadow is a little too strong.

BWG = Best Textures Gallery
http://mikekus.com/ < why it looks like carsonified stuff.
Cool find, Curt!
I do enjoy this site. Definitely captured the Swiss feel. The courier is a little weird to see, but I do like it. lol
Nice site and I agree with @dudeydudeydude

@Curt Very good call mate.

Haters gonna hate imo.

Oh and I just looked at the markup, could use a bit of a clean up to be honest. Bloated with out much of a reason.
Huge fan of Mike Kus’ work. I think this is another great design from him.
I find it weird that a web design agency gets someone else to design their website though.
@Elliot, agreed, markup is way over the top.
The reason the markup is so bloated is because its been built on Drupal. Theres not a lot they can do about that!
Just to inform you all, the guy who designed this site, works at Carsonified…
As they have a strong visual identity, you can understand this visual style coming through.
I personally really like the site and I like the kind of print aesthetics that come into the site. It’s got a very rustic feel.
nice and stylish ^_^
