Three things concerned me with this site.

    1. Ad banners? Really? Why does a mega giant company like Atlantic Records need banner ads? It’s a major turn-off.

    2. Overly busy content pages. There is so much going on, and so much large-scaled content grids on the site, it was difficult to hold my attention to any one specific item, let alone try and absorb so much content all at once.

    3. Consistency is key. Each section of the site feels completely different in both content and style. Other than the header, I felt integration and consistency could have been looked at more closely.

    1) If you were rich, would you stop trying to make more money?

    2) Agreed.

    3) Some consistency is lost I agree. I do quite like the directions on ‘The Stacks’ and ‘Time Capsule’.

I agree about the banners, but it is a design constraint. They actually handle it very well with the scroll keeping the navigation, but losing the banner. Clever solution.

The content pages are a bit busy and it is a bit difficult to know what you are looking at. the hierarchy could use some work I think. It feels a bit all over the place. BUT, with that being said… once you spend a few minutes on the site you quickly start to pick up on how it works and where to find things. It is a site you can easily get lost in, which is probably the point.

I LOVE the tyopgraphy. the combination of ff din condensed and futura is really nice.

I like to see this site get featured in this gallery because of its size. Often these galleries are filled with brochure sites and portfolio sites. It is really nice to see a content heavy, content driven site here.

    LOVE this site!

Great use of typography and a very strong visually led site.

It’s like print design has hit the web and IMO in a very good way. This site is breaking current trends for me.

The ‘tours’ page is lovely, what a great way to display event info… LARGE, BOLD typography/

Some of you guys on here need to get out of your own arses!

P.S the banner ad is ugly but if it makes a few more rupees, who cares?

Let’s embrace what we have here guys, there’s some very elitist attitudes on best web and we’re such a bunch of opinionated people us designers/developers… I can be guilty of it myself, I know what tdub is trying to say but his opinions always want to make a site better!

    Unbelievable…

This has code and theory written all over it – polarizing – but personally, I like it.

Right off, I can spot a ton of cool ideas around the site, and While I didn’t encounter any issues with usability, a colleague looking over my shoulder echoed the sentiments of tdub, marshall, et al.

Speaking for myself, I don’t find it any harder to use than say, MTV’s site, or Radio 1 (BBC) or even Facebook – it’s one of those sites that need a second or two for your brain to understand, but in return, provides a more unique overall brand experience.

So yeah. While I like it, it’s already obvious that not everybody will.
