I have seen this one before. At first I was confused as to what to do, but it dawns on you pretty quickly. Interesting way to approach a folio site.
I know I “get” it because I am a designer myself, I am not sure how prospective clients/employers would see it, or if they would focus on the designs on the page. Some of the designs are very “mac” so it might be hard to convey the work was done by the creator of the site. I image a user viewing it, then at the end going “OH..this is his folio!…right, i didn’t really pay attention to all that stuff :S”.
Very impressive, however I don’t agree with leaving out a navigation. Once I was in a section I felt trapped and unable to explore other parts of the site (if there are any).
The UI is not good. I just closed my window from the frustration. I hate when this happens. Sorry to the designer who made this: you have to go back to the drawing board on this one.
It seems with the decrease of flash and increase of CSS3 and Jquery, we’re beginning to repeat the same mistakes we made in the early times of flash and when the creative web first started.
We have to remember that usability is important to any design. If we have to figure out how to use it — we won’t!
This. The first few seconds of confusion is usually what stops me viewing a flash site. It is the same with this site. The graphics are lovely, but if I have no idea what is going on, I am going to leave.

A little bit complicated this site..particular.
Would love to get everyone’s thoughts on this one, really nice graphics, sleek icons. The UI could be a challenge for a lot of users.
Is it worth being so minimal and simple for a challenging UI?

Agree! At first you need to explore before knowing where things are. So it does get you to look around, but I think labels would help enormously.
I Agree with ELLIOT ,
User Can’t identify in 1st look from the icons. at least it should have Menu names..
Looks amazing though of course!
