Nice illustration. I love the little evil guy hiding behind the sheep on the left.

This one really IS pretty much an apple.com ripoff (and I’m the last person to ever accuse someone of such). But, I like the logo, and I’m downloading it to give the app a shot!

the illustration is great. Seems like “inspired” by apple is more accurate. Theres no shortage of sites have have the similar apple header and footer these days.

@me Correct you are. I really like this design. Very clean :)

That red sheep is judging me…

Pleasing, but… the art direction can be summed up in two words:

    “Apple Kids”

Interesting app though. I think I’ll give it a go as well.

Personally, I would’ve gone for slightly less cute, slightly less glossy, a bit more “TV.Com”, seeing as the target audience for the app aren’t sub-10 year olds.

Which is unfortunate, because the white spacing and all the important details (distinct headers, iconography, layout, typography) are all very well done.

@dudedudeydude – I’m very interested in seeing your design work. Please share. You don’t seem to like any site posted here.

I too would like to see DDD’s designs. Go on DDD, show us your world beating sites, you are the best designer in the world aren’t you?

@Lisa, Designer: You kids are very frustrating. What would seeing his work do for you – validate his critiques? It should have no affect on the fact that he provides detailed and insightful comments on sites posted here.

You wouldn’t fare well in a fast paced environment – and if you are in one I feel sorry for your employer.

Perhaps when requesting ones work you could post your own.

If you know someone’s comment is going to irritate you then don’t read it. Their name is in giant blue letters above the post.

As far as the site is concerned, I wouldn’t say that the design is bad or that I dislike the site (the app seems pretty handy) but I am getting tired of the glossy Apple-ish themes. You can always pick out the macboys.

I don’t think DDD has a portfolio, but a few months ago (he’s been grumbling on these forums for about a year) I asked him to post some of his favorite sites. He complied and it was an interesting look. At least, it was a way for him to positively describe something for a couple paragraphs, which is more than we usually see here.

If he’s got really got cool stuff to show, why hide? :P

I don’t even have to see DDD’s work, I actually agree with what he’s saying. Just because your work’s not posted doesn’t mean you’re not knowledgeable on the subject. The layout and general style is very much like if apple made a site geared towards elementary school children. But, I like it.
