probably not constructive but this really is a load of old cobblers, i’ve seen better looking powerpoint presentations. not BWG worthy in my humblest! sorry!

It seems as though it’s all intentional. His web design portfolio is filled with very clean looking websites. Maybe he finally wanted to let loose on a project. It seems pretty haphazard, but I think it works. Its incredibly detailed. I really like the layout.

I also like the portfolio squares on the home page and the navigation that block has. It’s like a Rubik’s cube. Neat.

I like this site, you can tell there has been a fair amount time time spent making sure all the details are in order and the theme is cohesive and carried through well for the whole site.

    Good job!

I like it. It’s not too grungy, it’s just perfect.

Thanks guys! Keep the feedback coming :)

@Pandd: LOL! Yeah, but I’ve tried to put my rubbish into neat piles. Don’t I get a few points for that? :)

@Jonas: That’s a fair point, and - looking at the fact you’ve posted under your own name and linked to your own (very nice) site - I very much value your opinion.

I’ve had a few comments about the navigation and its readability. I’m thinking about re-doing it - if you get a certain number of people saying the same thing it’s worth taking note. For now I’m going to leave, as it’s creating a little bit of a reaction which I like :P

I like this site, I think it’s a pretty accurate reflection of the type of work he enjoys doing. It’s well executed.

I like the little pieces of paper that come up when I hover over portfolio pieces. Lots of other neat little details too.

I agree the navigation could be improved, in regards to usability/legibility. But it is consistent with the rest of the design, just needs some tweaks.

    Overall, I think it’s great

Absolutely Love it. Best site I’ve seen on BWG in ages.

Kev don’t mind the whiners - grungy sites are always unpopular on here for some reason.

One thing (i guess) I’ve never seen before: search input with text-align: center; Like it, make it fun and not conventional. That’s creativity in the details. Congrats on portfolio too, Kev!

    @Rick : Thanks.

I think perhaps the search box could do with a button? Even if it’s just a small one …

I usually love grunge-looking sites so this gets my vote :)

At first glance I didn’t like it because of the nav…but after you click around for awhile and discover all the little details its really amazing!

    Perfect.

Thanks for the feedback everyone :) I have now tweaked the navigation headings and also some other bits and pieces based on feedback. Thanks.
