like the concept, but too many errors for me… youtube videos cover the static content and there are vertical scrollbars. very nice clean design though.

Interesting concept and design. Only complaint is that all the type seems to be fighting for focus. Maybe toning down the font weight on the body copy would help.

    Overall though, I dig it.

I don’t get how people can spend hours designing and developing a site then leave something like an unnecessary vertical scroll bar on the page. The unorthodox bar on the right breaks up the content coming from the right – to me you could get away with that as a design choice but when the scroll bars are messed up, it just looks broken and confusing.

I have a scroll wheel on my mouse, I don’t think I’ve touched a scroll bar for years because of that. It means I can’t view anymore of their content without breaking what I’ve become accustomed to.

They need scrolling like the previously featured site: http://luciasoto.es/

    @ Ian:

    1. have you tried clicking the film title links?
    2. have you tried clicking the ‘read more’ links

by the way, really edgy work on your website. ;)

@ Felix, Yes I know there are the links but I am used to scrolling via the mouse, just saying it breaks what I am used to.

Honestly, I didn’t see the ‘read more’ links, they are below the fold for me. This is just one of those sites you look at and know the designer was looking at it in a different resolution and browser.

I appreciate my website has elements that are unorthodox too – all of which I feel I have put plenty of thought into and strongly considered my audience when building those elements.

For me though, horizontal and vertical scroll bars simply don’t work together.

    @ ian,

    your site is unorthodox? ha.
    it’s a dime a dozen.

@dave & felix: Don’t criticise someone’s website unless they’ve actually posted a link in the comment. It’s just bad form and not exactly fair to compare it to the work on this site.

Hrrrmmm. I like the idea of this site, cool concept and I like what you’re doing with the navigation. My biggest gripe is you have waaaay too much HELVETICA BOLD

Makes content hard to follow and it causes me make a funny face when I look at it because I’m trying to get my eyes to focus on one thing.

Pretty rockin site though, I like slint.com as well.

REALLY like this site. I think the layer that consistently stays on top as the content slides underneath is clever and a smart use of real estate.

Others have objected to the horizontal scroll bar- I don’t. The designer kept in mind that some users may not have javascript enabled in their browser and wouldn’t be able to use the next/previous nav. With the horizontal bar, they can still enjoy the site.

As a designer a walk a fine line as to what I want to show on screen vs. the many rendering devices/use cases out there. I like it when a clever site like this is conscientious of a user’s preferences.

Greetings from Ohio! I’m bored at work so I decided to browse your blog on my iphone during lunch break. I really like the knowledge you present here and can’t wait to take a look when I get home. I’m surprised at how quick your blog loaded on my cell phone .. I’m not even using WIFI, just 3G .. Anyways, wonderful site!
