Not at all, and so many grammar errors it gives me a headache.
I love how people are suddenly making one page designs for a direction of an article and they are suddenly “art directed articles”. If you are designing a website or establishing a visual style of anything you are art directing something, don’t think you need to verbalize that it is self explanatory. Term is being thrown around quite a bit it seems.
Not to mention the about page shares no similarity in architecture to the other pages. Nothing on this site stands out to me and I think the ‘art directed articles’ could be taken quite a bit further.
I kind of like this concept, but it’s been done somewhere before and I can’t quite remember where.
It did take me a little while to figure out what it was all about, and there was in fact OTHER pages. I didn’t really feel much like reading the post though.
I’ll concede I was a bit harsh. Granted, the person in question did have his moments, but we can’t grade a website based on one or two pages – it’s the entire experience that counts. So while he may have shown some skill, overall, the website is fundamentally confusing, devoid of any branding, lacks any consistency, and has no information architecture whatsoever.
It is trying way to hard to be part of this trendy “art directed articles” phase we’re going through now. It falls short on both the writing and design fronts. Unusually below the usual caliber of work featured here.
All you haters should give CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM instead of bashing this guys design. If you don’t like it tell him why and how it can be improved.
I bet half of you have shitty portfolios too. Rich look at you, you call your self an art director yet all of your portfolio pieces are made from stock images and half ass designs with nasty gradients. Are any of them real clients? or just school work or made up dream projects? Come on now… why are you even talking?
Before you start bashing other people, look at your selves in the mirror. If you cant walk the talk, the go back and do your homework.
Expanding on that, the comments area of the page could be better layed out. I feel like it is just slapped on.
The lack of navigation makes it difficult to know where I am meant to be looking.
On each post, I feel like the headings you have created aren’t anti aliased properly? I might be wrong but they look slightly jaggy. I like the concept of the site, but it needs tightening. Good luck!
There is no point in giving constructive criticism in the comments section of a WEB SHOWCASE. The website is below par, people come here for inspiration, not to critique some lacking design.

Confusing and mis-directed, interesting blog posts but other than that, just feels lacking…
Some people should never be writers.
…or designers for that matter.

A bit harsh mate!
You gotta give the guy credit for the illustration. And the colour on the intro page is great.
@paul – I agree the colour on the homepage is nice and the illustration is ok, but I dont think this works as a great design.
What is this site doing on here???

The site seems more like a draft to be honest.

This guy isn’t a bad designer. But I don’t like the site. Lots of things wrong with it. Yellow hurts my retina for one.

I don’t really give a fuck what you say. We should be trying to help people out, not burning them with no encouragement.
