Static links + vertical scroll = the carousel of 2011?
Regarding the site itself:
Seems like a teaser temp site for some sort of movie watching service / product. The copy wasn’t clear (maybe that was the point?)
Art direction-wise, I loathe the dribbble-y art direction and icon-y logo. Looks like every other web 3.0 (sorry chaps, that’s what this look is) site / product / service / etc. out there.
Here’s a little tip: haven’t you guys (designers and clients) noticed that the best-known web brands don’t ever look like each other? Does Facebook look like MySpace? Nope. Does Google look like Yahoo? Nope. Does TechCrunch look like Ars Technica? Nope.
It’s common sense that the more you make something look like something else, the more you reduce your brand’s retentive strength. Hence why 99% of the stuff on dribbble is completely forgettable.
Looks great… but unsure what it is. From the design I gather it’s some video-social-app-thing, and if that’s all the design intended to be, I guess it works.
I suppose I should have expended a little more on my original comment. I see it’s some sort of video site, or OnDemand type thing. Scrolling, single-page design, glossy/gradients everywhere, static links. Yes, I get it.. and I get the idea that it’s “neat”, but I guess my question should be re-worded as “Uh, why is this showcased?”. If all it takes is popular (but pointless) effects and four lines of text to make it on here, I’m a little worried.
The Visual use of graphics is very eye pleasing but i feel this is defeated with what I would say from an advertising point of view a poor execution of communication I feel users with there average time spent on this site will leave with a solid if any infulence of what message you was trying to achieve if it was me I would stick to the same theme but make the message a lot stonger as its such a nice looking site and would be a shame to achive nothing from it
What exactly is the purpose of the site, really? I understand is a teaser Advert but what is it for. The effects and graphics are nice but the content is a bit mysterious and not informative at all. The site does not entice me to register…
If you follow it on facebook, it leaves the tagline in spanish, which is fine if you speak spanish? But if you don’t speak spanish and your friends don’t speak spanish? Hmmm?
Nice scroll effect but because of the small screen on my laptop I only see the text and not the text and icon together. That part of the design gets totally lost. Which is unfortunate since they are clever.
The site does make you curious and the tag line imparts some of what the service is, so I guess it works on that level.

I absolutely love this site. Very well executed.
Uh, is there a point to this site?

^^ =)
The design looks clean and beautiful but after experiencing the site I still have no idea what Youzee is.
That being said I am curious…. and it looks like a great site to get a ton of social media interaction.
