@bobby & @ivo…. go easy… It’s a good simplistic design with similar functionality – ok maybe it operates the exact same and has an identical scrollbar… But that doesn’t take away from the portfolio and their wide range of interesting design work. Maybe they were just motivated by firstborn’s way of presenting their work and felt that in a similar way, it could help them showcase their own work. It would be hypocritical of us to say that some of our own designs don’t relic other designs out there.
This is a very well done design. Very very well done.

Sorry guys, but that horizontal stuff has been done a zillion times before. I must have at least 10 different websites in my bookmarks that use the same or similar.

Why isn’t this a best of? Is this gallery so “ghetto” that they fail to see how well designed this site, and the BBH site, which didn’t receive a “best of” either – here’s the link: http://bestwebgallery.com/2008/08/08/bbh/, was?
Yet, mister “web design superstar” who clearly has zero taste, is awarded.
This is a prime example of what a true, professionally designed website looks like, and the people who run this gallery are clearly clueless about it.
@Jamie: I think he means dudey’s comments are much more balanced now, which is great, and not too negative like before. You could refer to other posts and see for yourself.
Clearly one of the Best of all times. And such a shame it is not included in the Best of gallery. Well after viewing the Nick Lalalalala “speech” on website of the (yet) not so famous FOWD blablabla , I am not really that surprised. *grrr* )
Design is SUBJECTIVE. Nick La created this gallery so he decides which site he posts here. If you’re dissatisfied with what’s on here, like I have always said in the past, better create your own design gallery. That way, you can post that BBH site as much as you want, tag it “Best Of” as many times as you like and you’ll be happy as hell.
@Kola: I’ve seen previous comments and imo they were just fine. Notice how those comments were only negative in a few eyes? That’s because harsh criticism is viewed as helpful to most seasoned designers…

Yeah, this functionality is not completely original. It’s safe to say FB wasn’t the first – so to call these guys on it is lunacy.

i like this.. love the look and the functionality, and esp the colours chosen.
