    Nice way of using type as a design element.

    Really like this, there is just something about it. It breathes well. Nice subtle use of colour, although I must say one criticism is the comment form. Not keen on the gray.

    Making the input fields more of a blended tint of the background colour and bringing in say the orange to highlight may work quite nice. Just a thought :-)

    Thanks for feedback guys.

    Glad to see my blog featured here on BWG. I created this design in hurry and working on more detailed design.

    @Rob:
    I have changed bg color of comment form.

    “A Way Back” has no way back from a post :D

    Would be nice to have a clear button to go back to previous page without having to use my browser interface or the logo.

    Am I the only one who thinks this has an uncanny “copy cat” feel to the A List Apart site?

    @Victor

    I’m usually the first person to pick up repetitive stuff… but I don’t see what you mean. What are you referring to? Colors & Typography?

    @Rich, I think thats what victor means by uncanny. I actually agree, to some extent. I don’t think any part of the design was “copied”, but *perhaps* there was some inspiration.

    To me, the similarities are so faint. Both have this “border-top” on the . Both have this use of a over-sized letter “A”. Both have the use of serif fonts.

    To be honest all of this could just be coincidence.

    Sorry, last comment was stripped out.

    “Both have this ‘border-top’ on the body”

    I actually agree with you, RB. Pretty heavy on the inspiration, especially what you pointed out. After reading around on the site a bit there are posts on ALA and AVA, as well as that he talks about it in another blog post… So, doubt it’s coincidence, but it’s still cool.

    Site reminds me a bit of this guy though -> http://jontangerine.com/

    As far as the typography goes for the logo…

    @Victor:

    ALA is great design by Jason Santa Maria and it has definitely inspired me but I havn’t copied it.

    @RB:

    You are right.

    @Rich:

    I am fan of Jason Santa Maria and Happy Cog. Just like them I aim for clean, simple and beautiful sites based on colors, typography and layout.

    Jon Tan also inspires my by his thrilling typography. Definitely the logo was inspired from his famous creation.

    I am redesigning my blog to add more flavor of decent typography and clever layouts. Hope it will make to BWG and I get helpful feedback for everyone here.

    Thanks for feedback guys. It is really helpful.

    I have to agree with the peoples. When I first saw the thumbnail, I thought it was a ALA website that I was clicking on because of the giant serif ‘A’.

    Regardless, the ‘A’ helps keep the design interesting, and the rest of the design is spot on. Good work!

    Only thing I don’t like about this one is the big aliased A. Maybe use an image instead or something like sIFR?

    Cheers.
